Challenge
The purpose of this project was to create 30 second PSAs using visual metaphors to assist with the message and storytelling. We had to choose a social issue, simplify the root of the problem, find a way of portraying it through objects and actions, then choose a nonprofit based on the initial issue.
Client/Background
I selected Impact Melanoma as my ‘client’ and discuss the severe issue of people developing melanoma by repeatedly getting sunburnt, especially at the beach. The root of this is a lack of caution.
Proposed Directions
Bread burns from toasters just like people’s skin burns from the sun. created a fun, playful animation to address the very serious topic of skin damage from the sun. It compares people sunbathing and getting sunburnt to a piece of bread being burnt by a toaster.
